Moorcroft Favrile Planter
This piece of Moorcroft art pottery is particularly brilliant in color. "Favrile was the label inscribed in Tiffany's famous dragonfly lampshades designed by Clara Driscoll in 1899. Tiffany also started a pottery workshop under the Favrile name introduced in the USA in 1904, thus comes the name for Moorcroft's dragonfly series. Nicola Slaney, a senior designer in Moorcroft design studio, has cleverly adapted Clara Driscoll's original design work to suit this unique range of Moorcroft pottery. This range of pottery when introduced was limited to three retailers in the U.K. This dragonfly planter pot is 6.5 inches high, 7.25 in diameter, and with impressed and painted marks. First quality.
